PRESIDENT, KENYA CARDIAC SOCIETY
Dear Esteemed guests
On behalf of the Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the Kenya Cardiac Society, it is my pleasure and honour to invite you to the 41st Annual Scientific Congress being held between 24th - 27th July 2024 at The Sarova Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa, Kenya. This is a key event on the annual calender of the Society as it epitomizes our motto to advance the practice of cardiovascular health in the country and beyond by bringing together professionals across all cadres to join in scientific deliberations. It gives me pride that through your dedicated support and participation, we have managed to host this great event yet again.
We look forward to hosting delegates not only from Kenya and the greater region but also our good friends and associates from across other continents. The attendance will encompass a rich cocktail of our young colleagues from training schools, budding career and seasoned practitioners across the cadres, academic and research enthusiasts, civil society and patient groups, and not to forget our great partners from the industry.
As a country, we continue to witness the rise in the burden of cardiovascular diseases and unprecedented drain on resources as we provide care. What a better time than now to reflect on how we can harness technology to tackle this health enigma. The Society remains at the forefront in championing for the training our members and roll-out of novel strategies to manage CVDs in line with our guidelines.
Our scientific committee has drawn a very engaging program guided by the theme for the meeting- Walk the talk- what do our guidelines say? in order to contextualize our deliberations on being pragmatic. Aside from the plenery sessions addressing unique topics in our daily practice, the team has created fora for workshops, focussed group discussions, abstract presentations, quiz time, exhibition tours, and themed evenings. This diversity is to enable unforgettable exchange of knowledge and presentation of cutting-edge research that can translate to improvement of healthcare. Our industry partners will have a conducive environment to interact with the delegates and to showcase the latest technology in the market.
The meeting will also provide a platform to engage in matters of improving the wellbeing of the caregiver. There will be social events including the coveted Gala Dinner to spice up the event.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our sponsors through whose generosity the congress has become a reality. I hope and believe that you will all have a conducive environment to network, collaborate and share knowledge and at the same time enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Coastal town of Mombasa and its rich history.
